Rural Crafts
Welcome to the Rural Cafts Centre!
Below you will find information about the various Rural Crafts demonstrated at Stepping Stones by our Volunteers: Sean Marshall, Mark Nunn and Ian Lowe.
Below is a series of videos made by one of our Blacksmiths (Ian Lowe) during a year spent in Australia as an apprentice. It covers the making of a simple leaf. Another video shows the making of a pyramid point.
Ian: “These were made in the forge of a great bloke and excellent Smith called Dale Russell who lives nestled in the Yarra Valley near Melbourne who I worked with for several months. They are meant to show each successive step in the process. In reality these are done in two heats or so”
